What are the Ingredients of Restorative Rich Night Creme?
Key Ingredients:
Hyaluronic Acid:
Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally and is known for its ability to retain water. In our skin, hyaluronic acid can be found in the epidermis, where it assists with water retention to help keep skin supple. Unfortunately, it decreases in volume as we age. In skin care, hyaluronic acid helps to attract and restain moisture to the skin. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to fight skin inflammation and irritation and to help minimise acne scars. Its moisture retaining properties make it a great anti-aging ingredient.
Manuka Honey (UMF 15+) (Leptospermum scoparium):
Manuka Honey is deeply penetrating and hydrating and has anti-inflammatory properties that have the ability to accelerate the repairing of tissue damage and reducing scarring of the skin. UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor which refers to its non-peroxide level of antibacterial activity. This factor provides an additional potent anti-bacterial action on top of the usual anti-bacterial abilities of all honey compositions. The higher the rating, the higher the activity level is making the healing ability greater. Another benefit is it has been shown to diffuse deeper into the skin tissues.
Camellia Seed Oil (Camellia Oleifera):
Camellia Oil is very high in Oleic acid (it has the highest concentration of all natural oils) and also contains other essential fatty acids such as Omega-6 Linoleic acid. Oleic acid is deeply penetrating and can permeate into the lower levels of the stratum corneum. It is an excellent transdermal carrier of nutrients and bioactive compounds to collagen and elastin.
Seabuckthorn Oil:
This bright orange fruit has naturally very high levels of Vitamins A, C & E, flavonoids and carotenes. Additionally it has a fatty acid content of 80-90%. Seabuckthorn oil also has a high content of the rare palmitoleic acid, which is also a natural component of skin fat. It is beneficial as a restorative and an anti-aging ingredient in skin care products as the essential fatty acid and anti-oxidant components help reverse the damaging effects of sun radiation and promote natural restorative processes within the skin. Seabuckthorn oil is considered beneficial in formulations for acne, dry skin conditions, burns, ulcers and poorly healing wounds.
Shea Butter:
Naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E and F and fatty acids Oleic acid and Stearic acid, shea butter is incredibly nourishing for the skin. Shea butter is proven to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties due to its tocopherol content and triterpene alcohols in it. It penetrates the skin easily and results is a softer and plumper texture. Shea butter is wonderful for dry and sensitive skin types.
Macadamia Nut Oil (Macadamia Integrifolia):
Contains high levels of anti-oxidant Vitamin E helping to combat dry or mature and aging skin types. It is easily absorbed making it an excellent skin softener and moisturiser. Macadamia Nut Oil contains the highest amount of palmitoleic acid of any plant, which is naturally present in the sebum of younger skins but decreases with age.
