What are the Ingredients of Herbal Digestive Aid?
Key Ingredients:
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria):
Traditionally used for the treatment of gastrointestinal conditions including indigestion, gastric reflux, gastric ulceration and bad breath. As it is mildy astringent, it is known to be particularly useful for diarrhoea in children.
Aniseed (Pimpinella anisum):
This popular spice works as an excellent remedy in the treatment of spasmodic coughs and easing digestive disturbances. Aniseed traditionally has been used to treat flatulence and colic by helping to move gastrointestinal tract wind.
Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra):
Liquorice helps to soothe and decrease inflammation in the respiratory and digestive tracts helping to relieve symptoms of sore throats and coughs. Inflammation and ulceration of the digestive tract, for example stomach and duodenal ulcers as well as gastritis is relieved by various components of Liquorice root extract due to its healing properties.
Kawakawa (Micropiper excelsum):
A New Zealand native plant that was known as one of the most significant healing herbs in traditional Maori herbal medicine practice.
Today it is still commonly used as a healing or herb tonic. It has gentle stimulating and rejuvenating properties.
Hoheria (Hoheria populnea):
Hoheria derives its name from its inner layer of bark of a soft wooded tree indigenous to New Zealand. Hoheria is beneficial for use in the treatment of inflammatory conditions of the digestive system, most commonly bloating, heartburn, nausea, ulcers, colitis, gastritis, reflux, bowel conditions and discomfort experienced after overeating (dyspepsia).
There are no artificial flavours, sweeteners, preservatives or colours used in this product.
What are the Contraindications/Interactions of Herbal Digestive Aid?
It is advisable not to use longer than 8 weeks if you are pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure due to the Liquorice content
What are the Dosage Recommendations for Herbal Digestive Aid?
Adults:
5 - 15ml
Children (6 - 12yrs):
2½ - 7½ml
Children (0 - 6yrs):
Use Kids Calm
Special Instructions:
- Take Herbal Digestive Aid after meals or as required up to 3 times daily
- Dilute in 30ml of water or juice and drink immediately. Follow with a glass of water if necessary
